Soon to be Adopted Pet of the Month
July's Soon to be Adopted Pet of the Month:
Junior from Bulldog Rescue
Meet Junior. He is an English Bulldog with a bit of Bullmastiff thrown
in. Junior is about four years old. He came to me from Dunn County Humane in
Menomonee WI. Junior was near death when we got him. He was found
abandoned in a foreclosed house. The County Deputy thinks he was there
a couple weeks without food or water. Junior was very near
starvation. We were able to find out the name of the original vet, so
we have his medical record. Junior showed signs of being abused. He had
his jaw broken at one time and it had to be wired. All that pain and
suffering. Hence he hates the vet!! While in rescue, he has been very friendly, cordial
and serene. He gets along fine and loves to play. At the vet, he needs
to be muzzled!!! HATES it there and lets us know! He has all his shots
to date and he has been neutered. Junior weighs about 52 lbs. He has
gained weight and energy while here. Junior needs someone who is kind,
gentle and understanding. He is a bit fearful at first. But once he
gains trust, he gives kisses. He has had an accident or two in the
house. That comes from being abandoned in an enclosed porch with no
food, no water, only a thin sheet to sleep on and no one to care for
him in the freezing cold. With patience and persistence he
will regain the understanding that he has to go potty outside all the time.
He jumps on people when he is excited and happy. That also can be
corrected with patience, gentleness and loving training. An
obedience class would help. Junior is deep red with a black
mask. He has a massive head like a Bullmastiff; but the body, ears
and tail of an English Bulldog. He is about the size of a large male
english bulldog. You can inquire about Junior by contacting the
Bulldog Rescue of Wisconsin, an affiliate of Bulldog Club of America
Rescue Network. An adoption contract and adoption fee is required.

Cleo from Lab Adoption and Rescue Network (LEARN)
Hi! My name is Cleo. I came from a shelter in Illinois where I had been brought in as a stray. A nice lady from LEARN
came to pick me up as I was in danger of euthanasia. I’m still a puppy,
I’m only about one year old. I’m as sweet as can be! I get along with
the two small children and three dogs in my foster home (that’s right,
it’s a full house!) The kids toys are great, they look like dog toys,
right? I’m learning which ones are for me and which ones are for the
kids.
I love everyone I meet! I like to greet people with
kisses. I’m great in my kennel at night, I don’t make a peep unless I
have to go outside. I’m on the petite side, I’m only about 40 pounds.
Being
a puppy, I still have a lot of puppy energy, so I’m looking for an
active family! A family that likes to take long walks would suit me
just fine. A family with a fenced in yard would be great too, but not
required. To see a picture of me or to get more information about LEARN and the great work they are doing, please visit their website at www.labadoption.org
May's Soon to be Adopted Pet of the Month:
Jake from the Dodge County Humane Society
My name is Jake. I am a three year old, male, beagle mix. I am a very
sweet young man who is looking for a new place to call my own. I get
along great with other dogs, in fact, I'd love to go to a home where I'd
have some friends. I do not know whether I would like cats yet. You
see, I was surrendered to the shelter because I didn't get along with
the chicken on my farm, so cats may be the same deal. I am neutered,
vaccinated, and ready to hit the road.

Every month we feature a homeless pet in either an area humane society
or rescue. Please check with the local humane society or rescue
about the status of the animal. Check back next month to learn
more about another animal in need!
