Animal Holistic Care Specialists

At Animal Holistic Care Specialists, we offer creative, comprehensive services for owners and veterinarians seeking integrative (holistic) care for large or small animals. At the clinic, located on Highway 19 between Sun Prairie and Marshall, you can schedule such therapies as acupuncture and herbal medicine; chiropractic; nutritional counseling; massage and reiki (energy healing); light therapy; and animal communication. We also offer various seminars; intuitive healing for people; and compassionate euthanasia and grief support following loss.

What circumstances bring injured, elderly, anxious, or chronically-ill animals to AHCS? Dave’s dog, Shep, herniated a disk and couldn’t get up or walk. His veterinarian recommended an MRI, surgery, and 24-hour care, with no guarantees. After one chiropractic treatment, Shep could get up, and after several weeks of treatment, he could walk.

  • Tanya’s older Weimariner couldn’t move well, and his legs kept giving out, because of arthritis and spinal curvature. Acupuncture helped prevent muscle spasms, decreased pain, and improved his back leg strength and well-being.

  • Joyce’s older Border Collie, Schnee, had bad hips and was obviously in pain when he walked. With acupuncture, Schnee walked a mile and a half daily, staying “active to the end.”

  • Marie’s 10-year-old whippet, Moxie, yelped in pain when her head was turned for tooth-brushing and couldn’t jump onto a lap or a bed. After a few chiropractic adjustments, Moxie was “like a puppy.”

  • Before Joy took her 15-year-old dog, Bailey, for dental work, she and Bailey met with an animal communicator from AHCS. In the session, Bailey indicated pain in a back right tooth. When Bailey’s vet checked, he found a cracked molar there that needed removal.

If you can’t imagine your dog or cat tolerating acupuncture needles, don’t think of your own reaction to a shot! Drs. Dawn Mogilevsky and Lynne Dennis insert acupuncture needles--thin as a hair--painlessly at points that, for example, relieve pain and tension, increase energy and sense of well-being, and support immune function.

Chiropractic and spinal manipulation use gentle, precise adjustments to correct mechanical problems, such as joint misalignment and associated muscle and nerve dysfunction. Drs. Julie Kaufman and Dawn Mogilevsky vary the degree of pressure they apply, making it appropriate for a kitten or a cow. If your animal is acting more or less “off,” and is older, or has had a fall, injury, surgery, or dental procedure, consider chiropractic.

Dr. Kaufman also developed, teaches, and practices JointYoga, a system combining key elements of several holistic disciplines with understandable, gentle, hands-on procedures. JointYoga, effective for animals and people, is rooted in the yogic principles of rhythmic, intentional breathing; mental clarity; stretching; and postural correction. It also uses elements of acupressure, creative visualization, and massage. Whether you might use JointYoga on yourself; your pets, farm animals, or patients; or in shelter/breed rescue work, you’ll find the two-day certification class eye-opening. June's Featured Business:

The Dog Haus Dog Daycare, LLC

At The Dog Haus, our motto is “Play.Sleep.Repeat”. And we have a blast doing just that! Dogs of all different ages, breeds, sizes, and play styles come to daycare to get exercise and socialization. Sometimes they even stay the weekend!

With over 7000 square feet of both indoor and outdoor playgrounds, one loving play leader for every 10-15 dogs, and playgroups no bigger than 20 dogs, your dog is sure to go home tired and having learned a little bit more about constructive and safe play.

Many of our customers bring their dogs on a regular basis once or twice a week – sometimes as a supplement to going on walks and visiting the dog park, and sometimes as a necessity for a well-balanced and happy dog!

Long hours (we are open 6am to 6:30pm Monday through Friday), play leaders who fill you in on all the details of your furry friend’s day, and overnight boarding are only three of the top reasons why customers choose The Dog Haus and stick with The Dog Haus.

Boarding dogs play in the daycare area during the day and have a private sleeping area at night. On Saturdays and Sundays we are open for boarding drop-offs and pick-ups from 8am to 1pm and again 8pm to 9pm – very convenient for just about any travel plans you have!

Our amazing play leaders all came to meet the furry friends we call our own through rescue situations, so we give all rescue dogs a free day of daycare! We also work with local rescue groups such as Internet Min Pin Rescue and Shelter From The Storm to aid in rescue dogs finding wonderful permanent homes.

Training and grooming services are also available!

Madtown Critter Care, Inc.

MadTown Critter Care Inc. is a personable, yet professional, in-home pet sitting service serving the greater Madison area. We want to provide your pets with the same loving care that you would. With a life time of experience, we are dedicated and take pride in what we do. Using positive reinforcement, we treat every pet the same as we would treat our own. MadTown Critter Care Inc. answers your pet’s problems while you are away at work, out of town for business, or just enjoying yourself on vacation.

The best alternative to kennels, since you don’t have to take your pet to an unfamiliar environment and pick them up at an inconvenient time. You know your pet will be well taken care of in their own home.  Pets get nervous and very stressed out staying in unfamiliar environments, especially cats. This will also minimize your pet’s exposure to illness. Keep your puppies and kitties at home, for your piece of mind.

We provide services to meet you and your pet’s every needs. From pet sitting and daily walks, to extensive exercise and overnights, we take pride in going above and beyond expectations. Each visit we pick up mail, turn off lights and even open and close curtains to just give your home a more lived in look to discourage mischievous intruders while you are away. We want you to relax knowing your pets and home are being well taken care of.

When starting a pet sitting service, aside from keeping your pet in mind, we wanted to make every pet count. Keeping your pet’s diet and exercise consistent and uninterrupted is very important to us. Also, keeping your loved one in his or her own environment goes along with keeping stress levels down and overall health up. And just having fun doing what we know best and meeting new animals.
